Simple Candle Divination

Even as an Atheist, there were still certain things that I found mystical, mysterious, or gave a sense of wonder and questioning whether that was scientific or if there was a force behind it.

The act of divination, to me, can be both mystical and also a dismissive feeling of "random chance". The possibility of cards (tarot), stones (Runes), or coins (I-Ching) being able to predict the future is something that I would be curious to know the accuracy rate of predictions.

Sometime in the future, I'll try a divination log and see the accuracy for myself. But in saying that, divination is also based on personal interpretation and bias so it will take a bit of research before I do this.

Candle Behaviour is one such type of simple divination that is used during spellwork to help the practitioner to identify how their spell is progressing and the potential outcome upon completion

Strong flames indicate lots of energy being gathered in the area for the spell or ritual is performed. Often it indicates a fast and positive result to follow.

Small and steady flames mean less energy. Patience and focus may be required, low energy from the practitioner. It can indicate that it may take a while but a positive result is coming.

Dancing flames are indicative of high energy. Imagine a night club or a concert where people are dancing the night away and the high energy vibe of the area. It often indicates that there may be potential complications but a positive result in the end.

Flickering flames are indicative of spirits or entities present during the spell. Some believe that this type of flame can indicate deities are present and listening often leading to an acknowledgment of the practitioner's spellwork.

Self-extinguishing flame or non-lighting candle can indicate that the time is not right to do the practitioner's intended practice. It can also mean that there is no energy present for the spell or ritual being performed.

When I practiced when I was younger and practicing, I would often get strong flames. Looking into the flame always reminded me of a spirit or a sprite, the "legs" of the flame being the legs of the sprite and when the "body" occasionally split showing the arms raised and a head.
